• Depression is a problem that affects one quarter of the population at some stage in their lives and can range from feeling down for several weeks to more serious clinical depression requiring hospitalization. The Cognitive Behavioural Therapy used my MindSculpt addresses depression from a behavioural viewpoint and approaches the problem through dealing with avoidance issues. CBT is scientifically proven to be effective in treating depression with or without the use of anti-depressant medication.
  • The steps MindSculpt takes to deal with depressive orders are firstly for the individual to identify whether they are depressed; secondly, to modify the avoidance behaviours that are a result of the depression; and, thirdly to find and engage in constructive activities that a person finds rewarding, to battle the depressive blues
  • Although depression may seem a condition of the mind, the concurrent physical symptoms that result may involve a lack of certain ‘feel good’ neurotransmitters, or chemicals, in the brain. In these cases, medication may be required and although MindSculpt supports multiple interventionist strategies, we will also seek to address chemical imbalance with measured exercise routines which release the body’s natural positive chemicals, and a mindfulness based way of thought conditioning. A healthy and active lifestyle with motivating goals is a positive safeguard against depression, and here at MindSculpt we are equipped to redesign your life and mind the way it was intended to be, joyful!
